APDS-9309 Digital Ambient Light Photo Sensor with I2C Output

The APDS-9309 is an ambient light sensor device with digital I2C compatible interface in a miniature 2mm x 2mm x 0.65mm package. The ambient light sensing feature utilizes dual photodiodes to approximate the human eye response to light intensity using an empirical formula. This allows the device to operate under various lighting conditions and through various attentuation materials including darkened glass. The device is particularly useful for display management with the capabilities of extending battery life and providing optimum viewing in diverse lighting conditions.
