JN5179-001-M13: ZigBee 3.0, Thread and IEEE802.15.4 Module

The JN5179-001-M13 is an ultra-low-power, high-performance, surface-mount module targeted at IEEE802.15.4, ZigBee 3.0 and Thread networking applications, enabling users to realise products with minimum time-to-market and at the lowest cost. It removes the need for the expensive and lengthy development of custom RF boards and test suites. The module uses NXP’s JN5179 wireless microcontroller to provide a comprehensive solution with ARM Cortex-M3 CPU, IEEE802.15.4-compliant radio and large memory. A uFL connector for an external antenna is provided on the module and an RF transmission power of up to +10 dBm can be achieved. All that is required to develop and manufacture wireless control or sensing products is the connection of a power supply and peripherals such as switches, actuators and sensors, considerably simplifying product development. The module provides an ideal platform for developing ZigBee 3.0 applications based on ZigBee Lighting and Occupancy devices.
