The μPD78F8069 microcontroller is designed with the refinement of IO-Link Master products and remote IO systems in mind. As a System-in-Package, it integrates the digital processing unit for handling the IO-Link protocol software and 2 state-of-the-art analog transceivers for physically connecting IO-Link devices to the industrial network. Built around a 16-bit low power CPU core, the μPD78F8069 microcontroller offers all the peripherals one would look to find in a microcontroller of this class. The 2 built-in IO-Link transceivers are fully independent, providing developers full control over their system' scalability and the number of ports to operate into a given application. They combine the IO-Link ports with wake-up generation, IEC61131-2 compatible digital inputs, multiple advanced protection and monitoring features.
