SSL5015DB1127：120 V 9 W buck high power factor bulb demo board

The SSL5015TE is a high-efficient driver IC for non-dimmable LED solutions. The SSL5015DB1127 demo board is a non-isolated buck converter for small to medium size LED retrofit lamp applications (bulb shape). It drives a constant current through the LEDs from a rectified 120 VAC mains input voltage, with a high power factor > 0.9. This 9 W demo board is optimized for a LED string voltage of 35 V at 230 mA. The output voltage can be configured between 30 V to 40 V. The SSL5015TE has an integrated 300 V power switch to make a cost efficient and compact solution.

The board can be modified to realize a power factor level of > 0.7 and < 0.9. This reduces the number of components and simplifies the design. A low output ripple is realizable with this topology.
