The TPA2008D2 is a stereo audio power amplifier designed to drive up to 3-W (per channel) of sound into speakers. Its Filter-Free, Class-D operation is 85 percent efficient and requires very few external components.
The efficient operation of the TPA2008D2 requires less than half the current needed by a comparable Class-AB audio amp and it also operates twice as cool. Filter-Free denotes the TPA2008D2 does not require a large and expensive LC filter to condition the output signal like competitive solutions and previous generation Class-D audio amps from TI.
The integrated DC volume control gives designers the flexibility to easily make changes in the sound volume prior to production and allow the end user to adjust the volume level.
