NCP3163BUCKGEVB:NCP3163 5 V/3 A DC-DC Converter Evaluation Board
The NCP3163 Series is a performance enhancement to the popular MC33163 and MC34163 monolithic dc-dc converters. These devices consist of an internal temperature compensated reference, comparator, controlled duty cycle oscillator with an active current limit circuit, driver and high output current switch. This controller was specifically designed to be incorporated in step-down, step-up, or voltage inverting applications with a minimum number of external components. The NCP3163 comes in an exposed pad package which can greatly increase the power dissipation of the built in power switch. The NCP3163 Buck Evaluation Board is a 300 kHZ maximum switching frequency board with either a 3.3 V or 5.0 V output. Both outputs are capable of loads from 0 A to 3.0 A. The input voltage for the 3.3 V output is 8 V to 24 V, and 10 V to 24 V for the 5.0 V output. The output voltage is selectable by changing the jumper positions on the board. For Vout = 3.3 v, set J1 short and J2 and J3 open. For Vout = 5.0 V, set J1 open and short J2 and J3.
