AD5737: Quad Channel, 12-Bit, Serial Input, 4-20mA Output DAC with Dynamic Power Control and HART Connectivity
The AD5737 is a quad-channel current output DAC designed to meet the requirements of industrial process control applications, being a fully integrated single-chip solution for generating current loop outputs. The output configuration is user-selectable.On-chip dynamic power control is incorporated on-chip to minimize package power dissipation in current mode. This reduced power dissipation is achieved by regulating the voltage on the output driver from 7.4 V to 29.5 V using a dc-to-dc boost converter optimized for minimum on-chip power dissipation.The AD5737 features on-chip diagnostics designed to detect if the current outputs going open loop or have insufficient power supply voltage and/or an over-temperature alert. The serial interface also features optional CRC-8 packet error checking, as well as a watchdog timer that monitors activity on the interface. The AD5737 is equipped with a FAULT pin to signal the occurrence of anyone of the fault conditions. The AD5737 also provides user configurable offset and gain registers which enable the removal of overall system errors without compromising resolution, thereby increasing the accuracy of the complete solution. The AD5737 is an ideal solution for multi-channel current output modules which require user configurability or flexibility in end-system parameters.
