MC33909: System Basis Chip with DC/DC and Multiple Switch-to-Ground Interface

The NXP® MC33909 IC integrates the functionality of system basis chips with 16 switch detection inputs and works as an advanced power management unit for the MCU and additional integrated circuits such as sensors, CAN transceivers, and eXtreme switches.

  • One CAN interfaces (ISO 11898-2 and -5)
  • Four LIN transceivers compatible with specification LIN 2.1 and SAE J2602-2
  • Scalable platform solution using pin to pin compatible LQFP48eP from 0 to 4 LIN
  • 6 current source Inputs
  • VDD rail (3.3 or 5.0 V, 500mA) operates down to 2.5 V on VBATP (supplied by VPRE Buck/Boost)
  • Supports low voltage startup at VBATP = 5.3 V and the low voltage crank profile to VBATP = 2.5 V
  • Low Q current operation for low-power VDD on mode, typ. 125 µA
  • VAUX rail (3.3 or 5.0 V) capable of surviving short to battery (40V) conditions
  • External pass transistor PNP for VAUX
  • SPI communication
  • SAFE_B pin for limp home mode
  • Analog multiplexer
  • Selectable wake-up on change of state of the switch detection inputs
  • VBATP standby current during VDD off mode, typ. 100 µA
  • VBATP Power on Reset to default settings
  • Active interrupt (INT_B) on Change of Switch state
  • Polling scan sleep/wake-up function
